I throw myself on the mercy of court. Please forgive me! tongue.gif Seriously though, look into having black tea on occassion. Good for the arteries.

Just had to turn down a free flight and tickets to the Ohio State/Indiana football game on the 23rd. Same day as my daughter's birthday party. mad.gif

Think if I have time tonight, I'll pop in my "Event Horizon" blu-ray. Oh, how I wish it could be the never-to-be-seen director's cut.

I also use to smoke like a train so that didn't help, thankfully I quit over 10 years ago. Right now during the week I try and not eat a lot, but I need work on the weekends (especially this past weekend). It also doesn't help that my wife is a fantastic cook but I have to start exercising more, like what she does everyday. I also like FOOD and DRINKING, especially in a place that actually gets cold during the winter. People always tell me that I am not going to be skinny forever and I need to start being healthier for life. Oh well I guess I need to get on that treadmill downstairs soon.

Oink, I am the king of taking a salad, putting tri-tip steak, blue cheese and a thick 'vinaigrette' dressing on it and it will be good but totally unhealthy salad!
Drink less drink better. Have less but drink the good stuff. It's something I was told a long time ago and I found it to be true. (That and so called cheap beer isn't all that cheap these days rolleyes.gif )

It is important to remember none of us get out of here alive.
As my momma would say "it's better to live happy than live afraid of the inevitable." wink.gif

Naw, not afraid. I've just seen my share of friends and acquaintances who went in the most horrible ways possible. How does that joke go? "I want to die like my grandfather did...in his sleep. Not screaming like the passangers in his car." tongue.gif

Freaking 35 this morning. I enjoy the "cold" here but it usually means rain. Our winters are pretty weak compared to others. We've been known to wear shorts on Christmas Day and fire up the grill.

There's an app for that.

I get a different number but I'm not enough of a math nerd to care which one is right.

It's come down to calculating kelvins on a horror thread. Education at it's finest. :-)

Event Horizon (1997) - Had some free time after tucking in the daughter so I broke out the headphones and had at it. Haven't watched this in over ten years. In some ways, it held up well, in other ways it didn't. They approached it right in having a black hole being more than just a short cut for space travel. Again, what was needed was the "lost" footage to have been left intact. What was left just wasn't enough. One thing's for sure. It screams for an updated sequel. *three other-dimensional zombies out of five*

I need to check this out again as it's been years...

Did the 2010 Nightmare on Elmstreet
reboot/re-imagining/whatever last night. I liked the angle that Freddy was such a sick SOB when alive, but the rest was fairly tame and even the revenge kill was muted and not satisfying/intense. Said it was "R" but felt more PG13 to me. I guess, typical, for what passes for R horror today...2.75 missed opportunity Zombies.

I've been looking for new holiday horror films this year and the pickin's seem slim. I came across his article about the small budget horror films and the lack of distribution they're getting:
