Just needed to amp up the bad guys a bit and stop trying to make them seem not so bad and add more boobs. It's like the world doesn't have any bad people anymore.

I agree, the bullies needed to be more sinister with their actions towards Carrie, and Chloe is almost too pretty to be an outcast. Makes me wonder what are they going to do with Poltergeist. A big part of me says sacrilegious, because that is a Classic that shouldn't be touched. One movie that has gotten my wheels turning for a remake is Disney's Black Hole. It is a perfect opportunity to make a PG13 dark movie like The Black Hole. But I guess there could be people out there that says that movie is off limits to remaking it.

I watched The Black Hole recently and love the soundtrack to death. Disney has a handful of weird dark live action flicks.

Personally I'm ready for this:

I told the guys at the shop they have rare DVDs sometimes (though the majority are mass market titles probably not even worth $2.50). They just don't want to hassle looking things up.

I still have a box full of LDs some which are $100+ special editions. Was I a fool back then. biggrin.gif
I am still a serial collector, although nothing like I was during the DVD era.
Now, I NF almost everything FIRST and then decide on a purchase.

What blind buys I do make I don't necessarily keep.
I no longer sell my rejected disks; I just donate them to a local library and write off on the taxes.
It's a lot easier and cleaner.

I buy what I see in the theater which is like one or two a year and add a few new releases and classics. If I have it on DVD I skip the blu. My collection small compared to many here but it's mine.

I for sure buy less BD media when compared to Dvd's but my BD collection is slowly growing. Most movies I buy will have to have a multiple repeat viewings throughout the year.

BTW, if anyone is interested in the new French zombie series The Returned, the BD is 20 bucks at DVD Planet (as opposed to 35 at Amazon).smile.gif
It appears there are 8 episodes spread over 3 disks.
Watched Haunter the other night. Give it time, don't Oink it . :-)

I haven't evolved to that point.biggrin.gif

BDs have spoiled me and I often have problems watching some of my early DVDs.
If a great classic or fav comes out on BD, I will often upgrade.

Also, older movies often come in at reasonable prices on BD....even the newly released (not always though).

Currently, I have only a 73" display and BD looks great (for the most part).
I don't think I will be doing much "upgrading" some of my favs when 4K comes out, unless the BD was shite.

It's inevitable collections will grow over time....how fast will vary from person to person.smile.gif

We watched it earlier this week and were very pleasantly surprised. Well done all around. We have the original in our collection so we may give it a spin to do a little comparison in the near future.

When Blu-ray first came out, I swore that we wouldn't double up on any movies that we already owned on DVD. Yeah......that didn't necessarily pan out. Especially with the $10 and under deals you can find these days, I simply can't help myself.......especially if I'm browsing Amazon while having a few cocktails. biggrin.gif

No doubt. I just don't double dip unless I love it otherwise any new purchases are blu. Having the kid around has led to several purchase in recent days. After watching Tangled for 5,743 times it's easy to buy a new one in hopes she likes it.

Right now Wolf Children is getting the most requests thankfully. Frozen is a hit as well and confirms she is my kid with her taste in horrible movies. On the upside she has accepted She-Ra as a Princess and has been running around with a wooden sword saving the dogs.

On the video game front, Outlast is a pretty good game! Normally I would get bored of a video game with no weapons but this game was pretty cool and had some scares in it.

Thanx for the tip; I'll try to convince her to watch it with me.smile.gif
BTW, got sidetracked tonite dealing with the father-in-law....will try tomorrow night for a viewing.
Like someone else said give it some time. It might seem to look like an after school special at the start but it certainly doesn't wind up there.

Yeah, it has layers and unfolds nicely. I'm ready for a second go but will hold off until October.
