Sound quality equivalent to a Rotel RSP-1098?

I'm holding onto this processor for a bit longer but I'm curious as to whats available that can accept HDMI audio with the SQ that the rotel is capable of when it comes to analog audio when using a cd player?

Go and audition pre-pro's for yourself and make your own determination as to which is right for you. After 100,000 post in this thread, you still won't have the answer you are looking for.

I just want to know if anyone has any experience with this processor against a newer upgrade.

If you have upgraded your 1098, to a processor that is capable of decoding audio through hdmi, did you notice a sound improvement or not with other inputs?

Thanks for your time, please don't suggest i go audition gear, that's not what i'm asking for here.
