Vizio VP322HDTV10A

Thread Starter
Just picked up the Vizio VW32L the other day, however since I am at a college dorm I don't have an HD box and the lower cable channels look either completely horrible or not even viewable. I did pick up some digital channels and HD channels.

The Plasma is the TV that I really wanted however, the were all out. So I picked up the LCD instead and and not satisfied at all with it.

What I was wondering is if the Plasma gets better picture on the lower cable channels?

I have owned LCDs prior to buying the VP322 almost a month ago. I have noticed a big improvement in the look of standard definition broadcasts with the plasma. It's not as sharp as HD broadcasts but it definitely looks much better. Plasmas don't suffer from the pixelation issues that LCD's tend to have. I can post a few screencaps if you like? The problem could also be your source. You could also try turning the sharpness control off or lowering it at the least. This may make the LCD look better. There is also a sticky at the top of the forum for the VP322. I post there as well as a few of the other owners. If you decide to go with the plasma, there is a lot of information there for new owners. These are the calibration settings for the VO32L. A few people have used them as a starting point and fine tuned them to look decent on your model. They were found at TweakTV:

Other members may be using settings more appropriate for your model as well.
