Do not buy UVerse - they criple your ability to send and receive email

Hi All,
this service is horrible.
They cripple your ability to send or recive email using standard port 25 and 110 (SMTP and POP3)
If you are using your email happily and you have more than one email account their unilateral decision to close POP3 and SMTP will cripple your ability.
If you want it fixed they will make loose very long time, telling you they opened 25 and 110 for you while they are not.
These bandits will not tell you about the hidden feature of what you are geeting into.
You will find out afterwards.

to check that the problem is indeed theirs do the following

Open cmd or xterm
Telnet smtpmailserver 25
Telnet pop3mailserver 110

Both will fail...
Normally they would respond...

Beware their support personnel will try to get you set up on some bogus webmail service,
obviously making you wait hours....

Horrible service, Horrible product

beware

Do not buy it

Lie Lie Lie...

Look at this:

C:\\>telnet pop.compuserve.com 110
Connecting To pop.compuserve.com...Could not open connection to the host, on p
t 110: Connect failed

Attached the jpg file showing the setup from serfish that shows the firewall

I live in Florida

In case you are going through the same pain here is the solution I found:

Accordingly, the free version of the mailFISH service is limited to 50 tunnelled mail transmissions per day. It is important to understand that this limit only affects messages you receive behind firewalls or proxies. For direct communication with your mail servers (i.e. whenever POP3/SMTP servers can be reached from your current network position) of course no credits are necessary and no costs arise. In the default setup, the mailFISH client automatically detects which form of connection is available.

Note it is going to cost you 3 Euros/month for more than 50 messages

Fixed the issue..
The firewall hidden configuration was not allowing the protocol to pass through....

No one reviewed them with me....

I fixed it... now it works...

So it was your computer causing the problem? Nothing to do with the service that was provided. See some people are under the impression that AT&T should fix your computer just because you purchased their internet. Does Comcast? NO!! Does Direct TV? NO!!! Does any internet provider? NO!!! So why you think AT&T should, is my real question. I have U-VERSE the picture of the TV is 10x better than any other provider. The internet is flawless. They do have issues however when I called them they had someone out at my house that day. Try to get comcast to do that. They gave me a four day window when I was with them. You are the type of customer that always complains and blames the bad big company!!!
