Official Sony XBR6 Series Owner's Thread

I just got my 46 inch XBR6 last night. I am very pleased with this tv. I previously tried all 46 inch 4100 models and was very disappointed with each for differant reasons.

The XBR6 has a very vibrant and sharp picture. Skin tones are much better then the Z4100 I just returned. Black level in nice as well. I have not had the proper time to play with the tv but I will this weekend. Perhaps I will post some pictures as well. Just thought since no one has started a forum on these sets I would start.

Congrats on your XBR6 mfarris. Let us know also if you get any audio drop-outs where you have to switch channels or inputs to recover.

I do not have any clouding and have yet to see any auto diming. However like I said I only got to play with it for an hour last night. More info to come I promise. Feel free to PM me if you want to know more or post here. Anxious to see what other owners have to say once they get one.

I will take some pictures soon as I know thats what you all are looking for. I won't however be able to take any picture of the back since I have the tv mounted. The sound is also much better then other models out this year from sony due to this tv have a woofer built in as well

Thanks for the heads up on this thread.

I will have a 52" XBR6 Saturday. I am replacing a Samsung LN 52A850 , which had serious IR interference issues.

CC had the 52" XBR setup next to the LN 52A850. On the sales floor the 52XBR6 had the same clear sharp picture as the 850, where the XBR stood out was in color and fine detail. I won't be able to give a true comparison until I have it home and setup.

I look forward to hearing from other XBR6 owners.

I know you all have questions. I only had about 2 hours total since I got the tv to play around with it. I will have more time this weekend and will post results soon.

Well my tv is wall mounted and I took down the Z. I am not hooking it up again since I hope to sell it soon, so I won't be doing any comparison picks sorry I don't have that much time on my hand's. I actually have a life and want to focus on actually watching the tv but I will take pictures of those 2 games for you on the XBR6. Don't know why you want GT5 pictures there are better games to showcase the tv then that game.

Sony just posted the price on the 70" XBR7 $19,999.99. Makes my soon to arrive 52" XBR6 look like a bargain.
My 52" XBR6 arrives tomorrow, I just received a Blue Ray player, is there a recommended Blue Ray movie which would be a good test for Blue Ray playback?

I think I did that and I have moved on.

lol, yeah it's not going too well so far.

Anyhow, XBR6 owners, can you comment on how the PiP works? Is it only available for PC input like last year's models? Is P&P the only way to watch HDMI & component inputs at the same time?
