Went to a higher end store here in Barrie ontario canada today and talked with a guy who acts like he knows everything in the world about home theater etc. Total dik....lol

- "Onkyo is low end and only sold at big box stores etc. "
- "to get true high def from a projector you need to spend at least 4k"
you know etc. he was one of those guys that you would like to put in his place.
anyways not to get too sidetracked, he was saying there are tons of movies that are encoded in 7.1 and said that all movies like Starwars, LOTR, and Cars for instance (on DVD...not blu-ray) are true 7.1 formatted etc. He then went on to say just look at the back and pointed out StarWars episode 1.
I saw 5.1 surround ex. He said thats how you identify 7.1 encoded discs.
He then went on to bash this forum a bit, but i wont go into detail (unless of course you'd like to hear me vent some more...lol)
ok just thought id throw this out there and see what you think about his statements etc. He may very well be 100% right, cause im new to 7.1.
Anyways i do not recommend this place at all. What a creep....lol
