Looks really good. I thought you planned on shelving behind the bar? Did you change your mind? It all looks great and the lights are a great touch. What beverage center is that?

I did add shelves to the left side only (the short side) The rest I just went with drywall.



The beverage center is just my Kegerator. I initally planned to have that installed in the cabinets with the fridge but I didn't like how it looked. So I kept the kegerator free standing that way I am able to move it around and don't have to worry about the cooling issues.

Steve, Here are some pics that you requested. I just used your standard 2" drill wire brush attachment.

I started the pattern left to right and row by row until the entire copper was covered. I then went back as needed. Here is photos of the scrap pieces I practiced on. Hard to capture it with a camera but hopefully it gives you some idea of how it was done. I am sure you can do it anyway with as little or much as you want. I just kept doing it until I liked it.

Perfect pics Dennis. Those pics of the copper practice peices look ALOT like my practice pic but they look different than your installed copper but maybe its just the lighting or flash or something that may be different. Do your scrap peices look just like your installed peices looked when you were done? If so then I am on the right path. And thats the exact brush I have, I also per your suggestions got a 3" as well

By beverage center I meant what brand and model is that refrigerator? Are you happy with it and does it get cold enough for your liking?

Not sure if you got the copper shield spray or not. Once you spray that on it, it will shine back up along with using the wenol. I think that is what makes my final ones look better than the scrap pieces and gives it a little more depth. The 3" with the 2" will make it look less uniform than mine which I think will make it look better. Good luck and I hope it turns out to your liking.

I purchased the magic chef wine model from Home Depot. The reason I picked that was it was on sale, has digital (red) read outs, and I like that I could manually set the temp down to 39 degrees. Some others you can't adjust. This also has 2 zones for red & white wine so the top could be set at lets say 45 degrees and the bottom at 40. I just use it for pop, beer & salsa and it keeps it nice at the 39 degrees top & bottom. The one downfall, it has racks for wine bottles and not a solid shelf but I can live with that.

I saw a similar model to that at HD but it was an actual beverage center whereas yours is a wine cooler I take it. I believe HawkeyeJosh used 2 of them here on his build, I asked him about them and he said he was not impressed so far because they dont get cold enough to his liking and that is going to be my problem as I like my drinks "cold" 35-39 degrees! But I love the look of your unit and the matching beverage center they look smooth.

As for the copper, yep got the shield at $33 a can--WOW But hey if it works then its worth it. I think maybe as for the wire brush a row with 2" and then a row with 3" then back to 2", what do you think? Or do you have another method or suggestion?

Yes, The shield spray is expensive....get what you pay for hopefully with that product, so far so good for mine. It sprays like a clear coat and has not allowed it to change to the green patina that some people like....

As with the brush I would just play around with it and see what you like the best, I would probably try doing the whole thing with the 3" and then go over it with the smaller 2" and see how that looks...

The Stools for the bar arrived yesterday from Bar stool.com. I purchased a mixture of backless and ones with a back. I should have bought all of them backless. They have a great return policy so I may send them back after the Superbowl party.
Who's having Superbowl parties here in this forum? add some pictures of your set ups.
I'll post some pictures of the stools and the party set up tonight.

Actually its just jealousy that you all get to have SB parties and I get to have a drywall party at best I cant wait to see these stools myself as that site is expensive. I got them on Sale for $99 and $139, 15% off and free shipping.... the worst part was not being able to see them first, the backless were better than my expectations but the others were not to my expectations. What else is new though...

Actually, the SB XLIII Game ball arrived Wednesday and the helmets are already sitting on either side of the ball in it's case. This years official Poster I got back in July. I don't buy those cheesy SB helmets. Don't care for them. But I have every SB ball back to and including XXX. I used to buy the SB victor's hats until they became butt ugly. I also have Elway's first SB win ball signed.

Something for my sons to fight over when I'm gone.

Now that my friends is a heck of a collection If only Elway would of stayed where he was drafted!!! What a punk but thats for another day. My question is what are you going to do when you run out of room for all this memorabilia? I have a HUGE Notre Dame collection of things that filled the entire basment prior to demolition but after the bar and theater are done I wont possibly have room for it all especially with taking one whole wall for the screen unless I start hanging things on the ceiling or on the walls coming down the stairs

First off those stools are PERFECT. They are a MUST have for me as well. They match the stain ad the copper absolutely perfect. I need a link to those bad boys. Which ones do you like (and did your guests like) best back or no back? Also I pm'd you get back when you got a minute regarding things here. Seriously those stools are sweet

Those pics are nice,it appears that it was a super party...my only question is what happened to my invite? I mean were practically neighbors I would of blended in well there. I mean my first 4 loves in life were all there. 1-Football 2-Beer 3-Food 4-Poker 5-Ladies......Ok thats 5 loves but who's counting?!?!

I got the most feedback on the backless ones, they are extra wide, sturdy and swivel, everyone loved those. I may send the others back and get all the backless ones but the wife liked the mixture of the two so who knows....

Disregard the links I found them....hmm backless is $40 more each...lol weird. I assume they are both 30" stools do they both swivel too? I may have to order some. I see they have an additional 15% off of orders over $399. Also wheres my pic of the end cap for the rail you were gonna send me?
