Denon AVR 888 or Denon AVR 2808CI for PS3

I'm at a toss up for these two and am trying to decide between them. I'm going to be using a ps3 for blueray most likely. I need some input as to if it worth the extra $220 to go up to the 2808ci? Thanks.

your decision should also factor in your speaker setup too. if you need a heavier setup then you should lean more toward the 2808. on the other hand if you have a circuit city in your area you should consider the "deal" they have on the newer 889. check out the 2309/889 thread.

L/R Polk monitor 70's
Center CS2
4 Monitor 30's for the Surrounds
no woofer yet going to get an ED one though.

is the 889 more closer to the 888 or the 2808?

The 888 is for only $365 on amazon and since you have a PS3, you shouldn't have any problems with the latest HD audio because the PS3 will do the decoding for you. I myself am planning to get this receiver. Can't pass up on that price.

Hello all, excitted I have found a great place for help and information! I have a denon AVR-888 with a polk CS2 center speaker, Polk M50's for the fronts and polk RC80I's for the rear surrounds and a velodybe dps 10 for the sub. I hope to get everything set up this week. The TV is a sony Bravia 52" I will also be hooking up a PS3. My biggest question is what is the best way to set up the sub, I was going to use the LFE input and set my other speakers to small? Does that sound correct? Thanks for the help and please forgive if I posted this in the wrong place...
