Hi AVS, it's nice to see how this place can garnish great minds - to help.
I have been on the verge of changing all my cabling from analog to digital for a while now. The most obvious reasons being my Projector not liking VGA. (HD1000U overscan problems, picture artifacts, etc.) and now my new HD Decoder having faulty component out connections. I could describe my setup for pages and not be 100% clear, that's why i made a picture. (don't laugh)

My HD decoder recently damaged my receiver, (i could sue but i won't since even on the off position the top of the device could cook an egg - no joke) so I was thinking on getting a receiver that could manage all my video signals.... most being HDMI. I was thinking of this model for now (cheap and fits the bill):

It has 3 HDMI in and has enough power. But here goes my problems:
I would like to split the signal from my receiver to both my Projector (720p) and HDTV 32'' (1080p monitor) using an HDMI 'splitter' but the said TV cannot receive 720p via HDMI, only 1080p or 1360x768p (grrrr...) so I would perhaps need the receiver to downscale/upscale the signal depending on if I want to use the TV or PJ... and that Receiver (^) does not seem to do the job. It only splits, no converting.
Maybe there could be a firmware update for the TV that would allow me to send 720p? The TV is: http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/pro...0099955&catid=
In short I would like for you guys to help me connect all my stuff to a capable receiver, or tell me what could be done to use the one I posted... and tell me if somethings are impossible (the HDMI splitting for example, could be a switch, I don't need both at the same time)
Please keep this post alive, I know it's a very 'complex' setup... But I really want to make the switch to HDMI. Thanks a whole lot.
