I was just posting about how well the BB sound was in the Klipsch speaker thread , we were talking about 5.1 & 7.1 , I used the opening season of BB as a example
YES!!! Not only is the sound transparent and full-bodied and immersive, but the sound field illusion is simply extraordinary and something I've not experienced with anything else I've ever heard. My example is from the latest season on blu. Beginning of one of the installments: scene opens to man smoking in the dark. Sounds like we are riding in a truck. Actually sounds like we are with the riders in the back of a sealed heavy industrial truck. Cars approach, intercepting the vehicle. It has been pulled over. Now the sound of activity on the truck body itself. To my amazement, I'm hearing drilling over my left shoulder -- ABOVE MY HEAD! To my left and above my head. I have a rear speaker of course, but it is not on the level I heard the sound emanate from. Virtually any sound from the rear is going to sound like it is coming from the level of the tweeters, or that general direction, but here was very specific information from above. It flashed into my mind that perhaps these interlopers were drilling on top of the truck. Cut to: the passengers aboard the truck's interior swivel and look back and UPWARD to the sound -- EXACTLY where I'd heard it coming from! Just blew my mind! I started cackling gleefully -- that was a first, but very consistent with standout devotion to craft these sound designers exhibit throughout. Not a wall-to-wall cacophony of effects, not that kind of production, but glorious to listen to the action being served by incredible recording mastery. Was then inspired to watch season three again. Fifth chapter I believe: Jesse has a party with big guns sound system -- man, this thing sounds just like every drunken bash you ever went to -- sound blaring from every direction, but clean and thumpin'! Wish sound on CD enveloped like this! Just phenomenal!
