I have seen (and mostly loved) The Wire
, The Sopranos
, and Game of Thrones
, and I think Breaking Bad
was every bit as good, and in some ways better, than the best of them. This of course doesn't take into consideration Deadwood
, which I regard as the greatest TV series ever made. I think we can all agree that we have been blessed with some wonderful television over the last ten years or so.
Like almost everybody else, I loved the Breaking Bad
series finale.I thought Walt's oscillating assault weapon that he mounted in his trunk and controlled remotely with an aftermarket car lock release was inspired, and kind of funny in a creepy way. Another ultimately surprisingly funny touch came when, after Walt scared the hell out of Elliott and Gretchen by having hit men paint the Schwartz's chests with what Walt told them were laser sights, we learned that the laser sights were really laser flashlights wielded by the far from lethal Skinny Pete and Badger. Great Stuff! Scenes like that are in a class with what Tarantino does. God, I am going to miss this show!
