But "Better Call Saul" is coming... if this show is as good they'll have another 15 mins

(while I'm wearing my Heisenberg costume right now)

Speaking of Heisenberg, it is ironic that these days at least, Walter White's version of the man is far more famous than the original, the Nobel Prize winning German Physicist, Werner Heisenberg.

I fixed that for you....

Sometimes I think I give Gilligan too much credit, he probably just used Heisenberg because of coincidence .. but, the real Heisenberg also had cancer .. and Jesse and Walt were like magnets, they always seemed to be brought back together .. as in Heisenberg you can't affect one without affecting the other ..

Better Call Saul, the planned Breaking Bad spin-off about Bob Odenkirk's greasy lawyer Saul Goodman, may act as both a prequel and a sequel to its predecessor

Though the project was originally described as telling the story of Saul before he became involved with Walter White and Jesse Pinkman Odenkirk tells IGN it may also incorporate elements of what happened to Saul after the Breaking Bad finale...

IGN: It’s been said that Better Call Saul will be more of a 70% comedy, 30% drama mix, which is sort of the reverse formula of Breaking Bad. Is that exciting for you?
Odenkirk: I don’t think that’s what it’s going to be. It’s going to be 70% drama and 30% comedy.

Not sure how I feel about this. I was hoping for the opposite, but I'll reserve judgement until I see how it pans out.

I was hoping for the reverse opposite of that.

Saul will be a mix of prequel and sequel:

Fixed.

I like the idea of both. We see Saul with his new identity, probably miserable, as the frame, and get flash-backs as to what his life was like before he met Walter as the main part. I think Gilligan will avoid all the mistakes he made with The Lone Gunmen, and he has a much more talented actor in Odenkirk.

Myself, I don't know how any real sequel story line bits could work without going into a fairly extensive view of Breaking Bad itself .. especially if they want to attract new fans that never watched BB ..

Bryan Cranston and loss from Malcolm in the middle actually filmed an alternate running for bb

Buzzfeed to the rescue, since Sony took the video down at youtube.

Thanks so much for providing the link. Having watched BB and Malcom in the Middle, this "alternate ending" was hilarious! It is a "must see" before it disappears.

Great clip, read about it in todays paper.. Boo to Sony..mad.gif .. the man/child line was terrific.. Miss the show.

Awesome clip! Probably even funnier to those that saw "Malcom in the Middle" (which I never did) - thanks!

It's so great that these BB actors have done these things, sort of "giving back" a little to the fans. Fun for them too, of course.

He mentioned dreaming that he became Scarface, then started cozying up to Jane. At that point I thought for sure he was going to say "Say hello to my l'il friend." biggrin.gif

^^^^Thanks for the unboxing video. Vince sure is a down-to-earth nice guy. He's proud of his show and his folks who created it with him, and he deserves to be.

Checked out the new complete series collector BD set today, in the money barrel.

This is some of the worst packaging I've ever seen. Completely useless, but it looks great on a shelf.

But if it looks great on a shelf, then it's not completely useless, is it? I've only read about it and seen VG unpacking it, but it seems pretty cool to me- esp. the disc-holders themselves. I've also read that you can open the door and lay it on it's side- the door acts like feet and you can display it that way, w/ the Br Ba still visible. Also cool that it's size allows it to fit on a shelf w/ other BR's (unlike many of these collector's boxes/packages). From the unpacking vid it looks like a lot of thought went into the packaging and the extras (I would def. use the apron and carry the coin around).

All that being said, I have all the individual seasons except the final 5b (which I'll get once the price comes down- still have those 8 episodes on my DVR), so I'll be passing on the barrel. As usual, though, will miss some extras. It sucks that the most ardent fans (those who buy the seasons as they are released) have to either double-dip or miss out, but that always seems to be the case.

I got an email from a Costco employee, he said they had 4 of the box sets for $179.99, YMMV.

the prices after Christmas will drop like a rock just like the Lords of the Ring did .
I'm gonna buy the box set as the 1st few seasons were in SD when I watched them , but I was gonna wait anyway to watch the whole run at once after a year or so so that it all will fresh again all over in Blu-Ray & widescreen . So wait I will just as I did for Lords of the Ring .

Yep, I'm in for the BB "Barrel Set" as soon as prices get to a reasonable level .. I've watched the series twice now and I really want to see it on BD ..

Funny you should mention LOTR since I also make a point of watching the Extended BD's at least once a year .. along with "The Godfather" set, the "Aliens" set .. OK, I'll stop there .. tongue.gif
