But as of 10 minutes ago I own a 7130.

Is the 7060 that good? Also, how is the brightness?

A little better than my Marantz VP4001 was - imo.
The 7130 should be better except a little dimmer than the 7060.
All three are fantastic for the prices.


*I need to order a male DVI to female HDMI converter or full length DVI cable.
Which is more reliable?

How much better than an IN72 in your opinion, do you think I can get $400 for my used IN72 with 2 years left on the Best Buy warranty with one bulb replacement?

Tough call just because I've actually never seen a IN72 in person.
But from the reviews the 7060 outclassed the IN72 and was compared favorably with the 78....so that bodes well for the 7130.
I would think you should easily be able to get $300-$500 for your IN72.
Take a quick look at what they have gone for on ebay, videogon and other sites by googling.

Don't the converters/adapters put more stress on the connector?

More stress on the connectors? What do you mean?

I guess it's like a torque wrench in theory. The DVI connector on the back of the projector, by adding an adapter you increase the stress put on that port, because it adds another 1" or so in length, before the cable is attached.

Oh, gotch-ya....yeah maybe a full length DVI from monoprice is the ticket.
BUT...any signal loss issues at 40' with DVI? I'm currently using a 40' HDMI with no issues and a 25' DVI with no issues.

I'm not sure about that, my cables are only 35/25 feet, I run a component (Wii) and an HDMI (from audio receiver) and they both seem to work fine. I do notice banding with the 25' component, but I think that's due to the extension connectors I have to use connecting the Wii cable to the longer component cable.

got mine ordered early this morning. what a deal.hoping to be pleasantly surprised.

pairing it with a 65x115 high power screen @ 13ft seating distance.

I alway wanted a PJ and I jumped on this woot deal , My first PJ .

I have a dedicated room with 50" plasma TV on stand now, I wanted to use this PJ for night time viewing..How would you set this up while keeping the plasma TV in same side wall?

the room is 20'X20' with windows on the right side only.

Either what he said or build a moveable screen or buy a motorized one.
My plasma had to come off the wall and onto a stand with wheels so I can cart it out of the way when needed.(extra long HDMI to allow for this)

I pulled the trigger this morning as well. First time projector owner.

I have a really huge room in the basement and I'm going to build my own screen. What screen size should I shoot for ?

Baement equals light controlled.

How far will you be sitting from screen wall?
What type of seating arrangement?(one couch, several recliners, rows?)

I have one sofa 12 " away from Plasma TV, love seat 8" away from TV , table set up or ceiling mount?

Most likely set will be install wheels on Plasma TV stand...LOL

buy a retractable screen which I really do not want to spend more than $100....LOL

Well, say 10' away from a 768p image I would stay 120" or smaller. Too big and you have to turn your head to pan the screen which leads to not so good feelings.
I'm 13' from a 110" and love it.

Got it......720p/48Hz for 1080p/24Hz sources.


Two-rocks...what lens will you be using to get the 7130 to do 2.35:1?

I called Planar Tech support and he said to get a DVI-D MALE to HDMI (Whatever end you need) I got one to the HDMI female.

Also, using the Right Angle turn down will direct it at the Power cord plug-in socket so I got the right angle adapter that turns left. I won't need the Component 2 inputs so I'm OK if I block them.

So everyone please double check the connector/adapters before you make your choice and purchase. (because I'm not even sure I'm right)

Are you speaking of the angled one?
The female HDMI to male DVI straight connecter seems like the right one...I ordered one.

The best solution is to use direct cables when possible and avoid the adapters , the adapters can introduce issues (which does not mean that they will , just that they can) .

Yeah, even though I only ordered the adaptor I wont be suprised if I end up ordering a full length DVI.
