Atlantic Scientific 4250HD and aspect ratios

I have had my Panasonic TH-46PZ80U for about a week. The TV has been great, the box AS 4250HD, not so great. First it started to give me the '' please wait message'' very frustrating !! , then it got very slow..........so I called TW and they said to reboot it, which I did, seemed to solve my problems , watched the debate last night , no worries, then this morning when I fired it up, the aspect ratios seemed weird. The picture on the HD channels had always filled the screen before but now when set to full it has bars on the side ? It wasn't like that before only on the lower SD channels. The TV says it's getting a 1080i signal on those channels. Does this sound like a box issue or a TV issue............Thanks for any insight, I have the TW tech coming over this afternoon and I want to be armed with as much information as possible. I do know this box is running Mystro software......

Probably wrong section of the forum for this question. More info here

That deals with all HD DVRs

This link deals with TW and all things Mystro AKA Navigator

You would probably get a quicker answer in that thread

A lot of the programming on the HD channels is still just 4:3 SD, so sometimes you'll get side bars even on the HD channels. It's a 1080i signal, so your TV can't tell the difference, hence the side bars even in Full mode.

To check if it's an actual "issue" or just what I've described, find an HD station that you're certain is showing actual HD content. SportsCenter on ESPN HD, or HD Theater would work. If those show up correctly then you most likely have no problems.
