My A1 has the dreaded "Welcome" frozen on the screen. What are my options ? It no longer is under warranty . Can I do anything with it ? Seems a shame to have to dump it, I love the old boy.
Regardless, I'd try getting the machine to recognize a firmware disk and then let it update to whatever version is on the disc, whether or not you've already updated to it before.
If it wont recognize a firmware disc, me thinks the player is bricked.
Have you tried unplugging the unit, waiting 60 seconds, then plugging it back in?
Try pressing and holding the power button to see if it does a reset. Press and hold (for maybe 10 seconds) or press and hold it while plugging in the ac power. One or the other does a full reset.
If you can get it to power on but the issue returns, clear the persistent storage.
