Thinking of using HTIB for secondary system. Looking for recommendations

Hi all,

I recently bought a plasma for the media room, but with the concerns of uneven wear and burn-in I decided to use my old CRT in the living room for all my 4:3 viewing. I'm looking at getting some home theater equipment for this room and I'm leaning towards a HTIB setup since this would be my secondary system and am looking for some recommendations. For me the most important thing for the HTIB would be to have decent sounding front speakers and center channel. I can live without a sub. I'm looking to spend about $1,000. The size of the living room is about medium sized. Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

At a $1000 budget, you'll do a lot better with separate components than with an HTIB. You can easily get a very nice receiver for around $400 and some decent speakers (LCR) with the other $600. JMO.
