Just got a Yamaha RX-V1900, HDMI DVR problem

Ok, so I have a lot hooked up to my receiver (xbox 360, ps3, wii, cable box), and there is one hdmi cable going out to my lcd tv.

My xbox 360 works fine and is connected by hdmi, and so is my ps3 and wii. But when I try to watch TV using my cable box hooked up to the receiver, the picture shows for 3 seconds, and then turns off. It is hooked up by a DVI to HDMI cable, and goes to the receiver. It works going directly to the tv, but not going through the receiver first.

What is weird is that the xbox and ps3 work fine going thru the receiver, but my cable box doesn't. What should I do? I've tried switch inputs and cables, but nothing works yet.

Maybe the DVI to HDMI conversion is causing an HDCP problem, I don't know. The solution would be to connect the box directly to the TV with HDMI, and run optical or coax to the reciever for audio.

This will also allow you to watch TV without the reciever on as well.

Cable boxes are notorious for having such problems. I have no idea how you would solve this though.

Tivo is one option

I know this is an old thread, but how did you fix the problem? I'm having some HDMI out to the TV problem myself and am looking for solutions.
