Inwall speakers ,solid wall

Hello,

1)Is it possible to install an inwall speaker, where the wall is not of plasterboard? It is a slolid wall (limestone), about 6inch thick.
I`m interested in the jamo inwall C 803 IW speakers (link : http://www.jamo.com/Default.aspx?ID=...roductID=18052)

The other option would be the jamo c80 Sur speaker, but that would be protutruding 7 inches from my side wall, and i hate it aestetichally!
(link http://www.jamo.com/Default.aspx?ID=...roductID=17855)

Thanks!

is it so difficult to answer?

I think some may be stunned by the question. You'll have to chip out a cavity for the speaker or it won't even fit into the wall. And if the cavity is a few inches deep, there won't be enough air space for an infinite baffle design, as all open-back inwalls are. Bottom line: Bad idea. I would look at onwall or inceiling.

another thing to consider, if its a solid ( ? ) limestone wall (or do you mean a laid up limestone rock wall ?), it is probably "load bearing" and chipping a fairly large pocket out of the wall could lead to serious cracking in and around the hole you just created. As Mr. Scarpelli mentioned.....bad idea

don't do it unless your a professional stone mason it won't work very well at all, just mount something on your wall you'll be happier in the long run by not wasting a complete weekend chipping stone.

hihihih , I aint no stone maison for sure :P
No, I`m going for onwall dipoles/bipoles. My first preference is speakers on
a stand for the surrounds but my girlfriend wouldnt agree, but that`s life!
