I know they have magnets inside. I've played around with them. It's still not a good idea to have HDD's close to other magnetic sources. It's the low-level formatting that gets screwed up. Many iPods have died this way.

The magnets in a modern hard drive are exerting many many many more oersteds on the platter than you'll get from placing even the largest of subwoofers a couple of feet away. I'd put a drive inside my subwoofer with little worry if I could be sure it wouldnt come loose and damage the speaker.

That is awesome. I would love to have a margarita buzz and rock tunes in that room.

lvisneau,
Is that "Chuky" the doll in your theater room?

PoolRat,
I think you need to move your center speaker forward on the TV IMO to reduce defraction distortion....nice setups you guys!

That actually is nice looking... in terms of size how big will the pb12 plus be compared to that one?

(per SVS sight)

The PB13 Ultra is
Size: Approx. 27” D x 20.5 " W x 22" H (w/o grill)
Weight: 155 pounds

The New PB12 Plus (12.4 driver version that looks like a small Ultra) that is coming out soon is
Size: Approx. 25” deep x 19" wide x 21" high.
Weight: 127 pounds

I wish SVS would mount their woofers so that the SVS logo printed on the cone was straight. Does this bother anybody else?
