Not sure on screen, I would suggest 50"

The TV is a 58" Samsung Plasma. Though, looking at it in the picture there, I really need a bigger TV. Just haven't seen any that I llike enough to replace the Sammy with since the departure of the Elites.

... the DIY subs are similar in size to the Epik Empire (18" W x 24"D x 22" H).

TJHUB, I really like those acoustic panels and you're right about your subs making your 58" (!!!) display look like a 32". Beautiful speakers as well.

I just got a subwoofer yesterday...Outlaw Audio LFM-1 EX:

Nice clean setup man!

Thanks. You wouldn't say it was so clean if you saw the back of the tv stand

I have a similar arrangement on the rear wall.

I like it quite a bit. It's simple, yet creative, functional, and the black and tan pattern matches your equipment and the wall color.

BOOM Shakalaka!!!

Here is my new CHT SS 18.2! So far with limited listen time, very happy!

Finish is excellent, any goofiness/spots seen in pics are from my camera and/or lack of photography skills. For comparison it's next to a Jamo S606 tower and that's a 58" plasma on the wall. It's down in a basement perched on a Gramma and the corner is concrete about 4ft out behind the Jamo and concrete the other way about 8ft on the Terminator wall. Should have time to play with REW this weekend and get some earth shaking numbers out of it.

Looks awesome

Have you tried comparing it without the gramma?

al2fast,

Nice, clean space. Have you performed any time or frequency EQ'ing yet? Also, you may be pleasantly surprised by toeing in your mains directly at the LP. The image depth and resultant "air" should increase significantly. Additionally, benefits from keeping a little less energy off the sidewall area would add clarity and image specificity.

Very curious about your REW measurements

Good luck

Thanks guys!

I've only played with REW for a few hours with my old sub, at least I have a baseline from my polk for comparison.

Have not tried it yet without the gramma. I didn't notice much on the concrete floor with my old sub, but that was just a polk psw505. I will pull it out as soon as I get more accustomed to the sound as is so I can give an honest assessment if it makes a difference in my space.

I haven't done any eq'ing yet. Just got it setup on Tuesday. I know there are adjustments on the Dayton, but haven't touched them. I don't own an eq...yet. Will see what measurements look like and go from there. Will be posting up a thread in the future with a review and some measurements. too excited with it now to not post anything and all I need for this thread is a pic!

Front speakers are toed in a hair, not as much as I had them for a while. I like the sound stage better not toed in so much. With more toe in I felt like I was localizing the sound and it wasn't one seemless stage in front. My main LP is about 13ft back from the tv.

Hi All:

Just thought I'd post a couple of pics of my new baby...the JTR Captivator. I've very happy to report that it has actually exceeded my lofty expectations!

Enjoy your subs and your weekend!

Here's my Outlaw LFM-1 EX

Next to my old 10" sub

I've since moved it to the front...pardon the wires I was in the middle of jamming my drum kit with the home theater plugged into it.

What model is your center?
It's the paradigm cc-390
Thanks!
That center almost looks bigger than the mains! (How big is the tv, for reference?) That is a sharp setup.
That center is the same size as the mains

I like your av rack. It looks alot like my friends. I helped him build it recessed into the wall like yours. Also I love Paradigms. Very classy looking.
The center is actually heavier than the right or left speaker! The tv is a pioneer elite 60 inch. Yeah the rack turned out nicely. Saved a ton of money building it myself. Here are some pics of it behind the wall.

That is awesome.

yeah its just really nice to have a utility room behind the front stage. you dont see any wires at all! i still need to get a spl meter and tweak the empire. i think the ypao made the sub way too low.
