Here's what I ended up with after going thru DD-15's and JL F-113s..............

no matter where in the room I had placed each F-113(doing the crawl, sub in listening chair ect)and using ARO,the Jl's didn't deliver in my room, lack of midbass punch ect.
One of my audio dealers had a few Velodyne 1812's in his room(and it was around 16X32 X12 H.This disc he played was Jeff beck's Live at Ronnie Scotts.
The sound was SUPERB especially the bottom as the drums sounded so real, midbass punch to die for.
The dealer gave me a copy of that disc and I figured my JL F-113's should blow the 1812 away, well I got home played the disc...........BUMMER...bottom end totally sucked.
I was NO HAPPY,week later PH the dealer up and told him probably my room was to small 12X19X7.
He said......does not matter the size of the room,To make this short the dealer let me do a home audition which I was shocked that he drove an hour and a half one way to do the demo.
We'll we set the 1812 up(no remote)as he for got it at the store, put in the same disc...BAM there it was, that sound I have hunted for years for,I couldn't believe it.
Of all subs I tried, never did I think this beast could do for music,Actually when the song kicked in,I yelled to my dealer,THAT'S IT,you know when you hear it.
Besides the superb bottom and midbass, the upper frequencies cleared up sooo much, total transformation, very impressive.
Sold the JL's thank god, never been happier.
The 1812 was going for 4,999,dropped from 15000 I believe.
I figure maybe why she was discontinued was the high price tag, size and weight(300lbs)not everybody's cup of tea, when the majority of people are looking at small foot print subs with power.
For me it's sound quality,if the bottom end can't sound realist(recording dependent)why bother,I don't care about looks,price ect,It's the sound,and she's killer on movies also,Cheers.
