I have the initial pair - the beta test pair if you will. I got the L/R back in Feb
, but had to wait until a couple weeks ago to get the matching center. I think a portion of the reason Jeff designed them was at my (and other's I'm sure) request that we wanted Noesis sound on a mere mortal budget. Enter the 228HT. Same horn dispersion pattern as the big brother 212HT, Jeff's triple 8" drivers and form factor instead of his triple 12" drivers and form factor, and a far cheaper, but certainty well respected compression driver servicing the smaller 8" center horn.
My personal summary of the 228HT compared to the 212HT = 98% of the movie performance, 75% of the music performance at 50% the price. IMO, It is truly one of the top five speakers I've heard, and only beaten by speakers costing 2x's or more as much, including the Cat12c, Noesis 212HT, and GSR LS6.
I think we will be going to a meet about the same time in April. I'm going to the Des Moines meet that dlbeck is hosting, about the same timeframe you'll be going to the Gorilla83 meet in PA.
