Note that the room is not that ugly anymore. The woofers are positioned differently now and are almost completely masked by a 100" screen.

The only reason the graphs taper off like that at 7Hz is that the correction values I have loaded into REW stop at 7hz, the 5Hz notes in "Bass I Love You" are alive and well in my living room!

Also, the pink yoga mat has since been replaced with a thicker blue yoga mat and serves as my ghetto Subdude.

Are those A7s-450s or just the eD woofer in your own housings? I'm going to guess the latter but I dont make a habit of assuming.

The low stuff is au naturale, although I do have a BFD in the system with two filters to subdue a spike my room has between 40 and 50 hz. You can see this in the higher level sweeps - it looks like compression in that range but apparently that room mode can only support so many dB's.

Your guess is correct. Also they're the 12" drivers (the same driver that's in the A2-300) rather than the 18" in the A7s-450.

I agree it would be very hard without side to side comparison to tell the difference between the Fw 15.1 a PC Ultra or ven a smaller tube SUb.

My sub is actually 20 X 57 Inches vs 16 X 46 for a PC Ultra has a 15 inch vs 13 inch driver and a 1300 W vs 750 amp. Not saying that makes it "better" only tests and listening can tell that. But it is bigger (and about $300 less expensive before shipping). Oh and there is no grill to go over the portts like an SVS BUT at nearly 5 feet tall it will be a LOOONNGG time before my 4 and 2 year old are tall enough to drop any cars down it.

Didn't mean to be racially subbiased. I own a 16-46 CS and it definitely resembles the Funkywaves. Obviously 11 inches shorter and 4 inches less in diameter (can't tell that from the pic though). Must be fun to move around . I just had to completely remove my entire HT, furniture and all, thanks to flooding from Hurricane Ike. It wasn't fun moving 2 MFW15s and an SVS 16-46 upstairs into the living room so they could sit there staring at me for the next month wondering when they were going to be put back to good use.

People take it for granted just how large the smallest ported SVS subwoofer is. It's actually pretty big for an entry level subwoofer.

All I've got is a Klipsch RW-12d (bought it at cost this summer), but I've really been thinking of selling to pick up a Hsu VTF-3 MK3... I've read it sounds better/cleaner throughout its range, but will I say "WOW"?

My other thought was to get a second RW-12d and run two of them....

Quad Tumults sealed. No stinkin' graphs here, they go to 5hz. Powered by Quad QSC 1450's bridged.The Marchand BASSIS handles the 5hz extension.700lbs of love. The cabinets are 2"MDF all sides to include the cross braces. 10ga multistarand from HomeDepot. Alexander wept, for there was nothing left to conquer.



Never having to reach for the remote to lower the volume during WOTW dts..........priceless!!!
