Samsung LN52A650 vs LN52A850, come & recommend!

Good day,

This is my first post in this section so without any doubt I expect good supports from you guys. I am a bit confused to a certain level that I want somebody to guide me on which direction I should move.

Our markets in Middle East in price wise are different than the US. For the first time when I saw the 52 650 I was very impressed with until today. I can say that I can get the 52 650 + Samsung Blue Ray Home Theater HT-BD2 as a package for only $ 4270 while the LCD itself costs around $ 3527, expensive ha.

And after exploring the 850 forum and reading your reviews, I thought why not swapping to the 52 850, which will cost me around $ 3799. But bear in mind that I have to buy the 850 from a neighboring country because it is not yet released in my country, and of course if it is released in my country it will be more expensive than the price I mentioned earlier, because their market is cheaper.

I am a PQ & SQ lover, so I have to fix an HT to satisfy my hearing, but for the LCD which one do you recommend, do I have to pay more just to get the impressive and thinner 850 or I will be satisfied with the 650 with the HT-BD2 Home Theater? Are there any significant changes that worth to jump to the 850?

I don't know the PQ of the 850 because I didn't see it but what I can say that the 650 is imposing.

Your support is highly appreciated

Regards

If it's at all possible go look at the 650 and 850 to see for yourself. After you see both sets and realize the PQ is exactly the same, do yourself a favor, and save a lot of money and get the 650.

The only difference between the two is the red bezel is actually blue on the 850, and the 850 is thinner. IMO, the 850 is not worth the extra money for a different color and a thinner panel.

Agreed. Get the 650 and spend the extra money on something else. You will not be disappointed with the 650.

For the US, I belive the 860 has the "blue" bezel, and "red" for 850.

As I understand, the only real difference between the 650 and the 850, feature-wise, is additional internet content. A neighbor of mine dug real deep and found that if you slurge and get the 850 you get access to such vital samsung internet secrets as... Cooking recipes.

So yeah, save money, get 650, smile and enjoy .

The bezel on the 850 is red, the bezel on the 860 is blue.
