Does anybody own or seen a Optoma 8000 set up? I have read a ton of reviews and it seems to be a very good projector for the price, around $3K-$4K.

It's the same as the HD80 model (just sold through a different channel). Which has a sticky thread (in the under 3k forum) that should answer any and all of your questions.
