Apex offering $10 off expired converter box coupons at site

I just spoke to a representative from Apex Digital. They've just initiated an offer to expired converter box coupon holders. They will give you $10 towards a converter box purchased on their website when you provide an expired coupon code. May not be the same as a reissuance of my coupons but hey, $10 is $10!

Interesting. But the web page implies that the offer is only on purchases of the DT250 (APT). What if you want their DT502?

Is this just a scheme for dumping the stock of the lesser box?

hmmm I noticed they mention the 502 on the main page along with the 250.

APEX now has a DT502A model.

Wonder if they think the coupon dates will be extended and they might be able to turn them in for $40?

Probably. Unfortunately I threw-away all my expired coupons.

What is the difference between APEX DT502 vs 502A?
I haven't seen any information on the difference. I have been talking with their support department about some of the short-comings of the DT502 (i.e. lack of adding stations without wiping the current list & fringe reception issues).

It appears there is also a DT250A and a DT205A been added. https://www.ntiadtv.gov/cecb_list.cfm

Apex site, www.shop-apex.com states can use my expired coupon code to receive $10 off the price on the DT502 but I have no option to purchase it. Seems they're in the process of adding the DT502 buy link and its information to the website today

Does the coupon actually have to be expired? I have one that's used, but won't expire until January.

well if its not expired they'll apply $40 to the cost of the box, I ended up with the 502. Works fine

Is that the DT502 or the DT502A?

A coupon doesn't expire if it's been used.

I lost my DTV coupon.. I got it in the mail and I put it down someplace and it's lost :-/ I'm sure its expired now..

They have not expired, read this:

dtv2009 dot gov slash FAQ.aspx

Under "Using A Coupon":

17.If a coupon expires before it is used, can a consumer re-apply?
If a consumer requests only one coupon and it expires before it is used, then they can apply for a second coupon. Once two coupons have been issued to that household, the consumer will no longer be eligible to request any more coupons. Coupons expire 90 days after they are mailed.

Although it seems to conflict with this:

dtv2009 dot gov slash EmailUs.aspx

My Coupons Expired, Can I Get A New One

Coupons expire 90 days from the date they are mailed. The expiration date is printed on the coupon. We are not able to extend the expiration date or issue coupon replacements under any circumstances.

But that above statement doesn't say you can't reapply, it merely says you just can't extend the expiration date. You shouldn't be arrested for fraud if you destroy your original.

The bottom line is this, if an address has already applied for two coupons and they expire before they are used - THAT'S IT!

NO MORE!

You're done!

Game Over.

I don't see the conflict. ??

I applied for one coupon before, so I'll apply again. I live at a new address now so maybe I could get two?

As long as the previous resident hadn't ordered them yet.

Let me try again:

I have a coupon that is used, but not expired. Will Apex accept this coupon & give me $10 off?
