How do you connect to non-HDCP DVI devices?

I get no video.

You'd have to use an analog connection.Component or suchlike.

If I use component, I can't get lossless sound right?

It would really help if we knew what equipment you had. You could still get lossless if you have a player that decodes all such as the BD55, 5.1/7.1 analog out, and a receiver with 5.1/7.1 analog ins.

can a ps3 output like that

With the PS3 you could output component video to your display and use HDMI to your receiver for lossless audio. Actually you can do this for most Blu Ray players.

I believe most blu-ray players will not tansmit lossless over hdmi unless a display is connected due to hdcp issues.

Right but are you getting lossless out of your HDMI, or does it downgrade to 2 channels?

Why don't you make things easy for everyone and tell us what equipment you have or plan on getting?
