I admire the WB speakers, never heard them though. They remind me of some of Wharfedales offerings with the curved cabinets.

Tim, I think I found your next car:

Koenigsegg CCXR Edition
Only 6 built IIRC

Tim, it's 10/29/08 - shipment day! I bet you're excited.

Dark Ninja - Beautiful automobile. A man can only dream . . .

Nuance - Lets hope they stick to their word and actually get those speaks on an airplane to me today. My dealer keeps telling me you can't rush perfection, but I think that WB has had long enough.

I'm moving my system around and getting things organized again. I've compared the WB ACTs with a variety of other speakers and in fact own Eben X3 speakers as well. Each speaker offers advanced drivers but present music completely differently.

The Classe gear looks nice- the store where I first bought highend audio now carries the Delta series gear.

I'm more of a two channel guy and run esoteric stuff, Accuphase, Brinkmann, Esoteric and Playback Designs digital, Levinson and Denon DVD players. I'm debating on getting a second Torus to balance out the stereo sound. Not lacking for anything right now but the intellectual curiosity has me wondering what two Tori can do.

amg -

Sorry for missing your post. They say that two subs are always better than one, so if you can swing the cost of the 2nd Torus, I'm sure it would be fab.

So do you own both the Eben's and the ARC's? How would you describe the sound of both?

I see the Disco's may be making an appearance in your living room tomorrow, Tim. Hope they do.

It would be a good day if that actually happens. I had to scramble to get my rack back together after installing the cooling system. It's been two long days of cutting, sanding, drilling, wiring, measuring, and painting . . . .

I like projects like this but at the same time I just want it done.

Not going to happen today it looks like. I am cry.

Though you've certainly got it worse than me. I been through four sets of speakers while you wait continue for yours, and since it seems like Salk is still waiting on drivers, it seems like your at least a few weeks away.
okay, now you made me cry too... nothing I can do but wait, I know it's not Jim's fault (he is ready with the cabinets), so I can't even get mad at him. Stupid driver supplier guy!!!

Okay now you guys...man it up. No sniveling. When the going gets tough, real men go have a couple of drinks!

Waiting builds strong character...or at least that's what my wife tells me when I've waited for her multiple times........

Surely there are some fancy Wilson-Benesch Discovery monitors in your home by now, aren't there Tim?

I was told by the dealer that the WB's *might* show up today, but it was oddly up in the air. Small shipping co. doing the delivery so I guess that they do things when they just get around to it.

Can't complain. It was a nice surprise to hear a knock on the door at 4:30pm.

But get this, I'm so sucked into playing with my Apple Mac Mini music server that I haven't even unpacked them.

I'll get to it later tonight though for sure.

It's been a good day.

I guess you will undress them slowly, maybe sling the box around and tease us until they are bare.
I say just get bare and get it on.

Nice pics of boxes Tim. How about some pics of the actual speakers.

Without further delay . . .

Against my better judgement (I've been through a ton of speakers that I loved at first), I am just going to say WOW! I've literally listened to 10 minutes of music on them and both my wife and I were drooling. We were watching a sit com and I switched over to my Mac Mini (that I use as a music server) during commercial, queued up some Goldfrapp, and honestly I was a little apprehensive as to whether they would live up to my memory of them during my 10 hour audition. Anyway, what came from the speakers was a thing of sheer beauty. Super clean, big, full bodied sound and much better detail than I remember (but not etched, dry or analytical). And the funny thing is, I don't get the sense that they are all that laid back, if at all, like I thought they were. Maybe its the new Classe font end? I don't know. OK, I shouldn't say much more or I'm going to jinx things, and besides I am in the honeymoon. Though it does feel like I've jumped in bed with a Playboy Playmate.

Congrats Tim. I truly am happy for you and hope your journey has ended.......... for a couple of weeks at least.

Now go listen to some Porcupine Tree and post impressions.

EDIT: The speakers look nice. I can imagine how they sound.
Tim, these WB's truly have a .... uh .... Tim look about them. Modern, bit o' glitz, high tech, and go quite well with your room accessories.

I hope you keep on loving these!!

Do you have HID or Halogen track lighting in there? I'm with Mudslide--nice and modern and fits your aesthetic I think.

I'm a little surprised by the small size of the center. Overall a nice looking and practical set up.

Funny that you would ask about the lighting . . .

Just had it installed when I did some acoustic room treatment.

The center is tiny, but it can hit 111dB at 1 meter. And it throws a much larger stage even in mono than the size would lead you to believe.

Wooooooooooooow! I must say, those look awesome in your room, Tim. I think you nailed it this time, as these look sexy but aren't too big for the room. Congratulations!

Enjoy!

P.S. I read what you said about the goosebumps in my thread. That's awesome dude! Feels good, doesn't it?

I want to angle these speakers down a bit, but the mount has no vertical rake, so I'm going to have to get creative again. Probably be a while before this are mounted.

Thanks Brandon! The do match rather nicely with the decor don't they. Now we just have to cross our fingers that they stick around for a while. Then again I do have 5 bands of PEQ per channel in the Classe, so I'll monkey with that before kicking these to the curb.

I just got home from Indy and I have to leave for work in about one minute. All I have to say, is you bought some very special speakers, Tim. If you get out of these in a month I'll be shocked. Truly.

I'm very much looking forward to your impressions.
