I've had my HW10 about 4/5 weeks, and while my opinion on it has been jumping back and forth a bit (initially very impressed, then a bit disappointed when I got a screen and calibrated it) I'm now very happy with it overall now that I've got a large portion of my room covered in black velvet. (the rest of the room will be done within the next week or two I hope)
(note: I had to move furniture to cover the walls, so the room is a bit of a mess right now, and the lighting isn't set up properly, which is why the screen looks patchy)
It's made a big difference to image quality by cutting down reflections a lot (the walls/ceiling are very close to the screen) and having most of your field of view black gives the image a lot more impact. I can't wait until I've finished covering the room.
I'm still a little disappointed by the fact that the image is in no way "film-like" as a lot of LCoS owners claimit just seems like a giant LCD to me in a lot of waysbut considering that I paid less than half the price of an RS10/HD350 or a close-out Kuro Projector, I'm very happy. I'm also happy I decided to split my budget 50/50 on the projector and room treatments/cabling, as it has made a much bigger difference to image qualtiy than buying a more expensive projector on its own would have.
It's not perfect, but it is very good value for money. I just wish I didn't have to waste 30-60 minutes waiting for it to warm up properly each time it goes on. (to get back into focus and show accurate greyscale/colour reproduction)
