anyone have any experience with this set yet? or can money be better spent on better technology

Who are you talking about they? There is an owner's thread for that 835 model set. Me personally, it is the best DLP on the market.

Me personally, the best DLP on the market is the HL67A750

They are both good sets, no doubt about it, I think you would be happy with whichever you choose. I prefer the PQ on the Mits slightly better, but I have only seen both sets in showrooms at BB and never calibrated or in someones home.
