Sorry to resurrect this, because it's an oldie but not a goodie...but putting it off until Spring has come and gone, and it's time to bite the bullet and try and get this thing done.
I promise, it's not going to be like before; it's ductless, and it's Fujitsu. Just a couple of quick questions about which one. I guess the 4 things I'm trying to factor are BTUs, SEER rating, price, and size.
There's the 9 and 12 unit, and the hi-SEER version of each model. A regular
9 is 8500 cooling/10k heating BTUs, and 20 SEER; a regular 12 11,500/14k, and also 20 SEER. The hi-SEER 9 is 9k/12k, and 26 SEER; hi-SEER 12 12k/16k, 25 SEER.
9 8500/10k 20
9h 9000/12k 26
12 11500/14k 20
12h 12k/16k 25
My room is finished Attic space, well insulated, 18 x 12 x 8. So, 9 or 12? Regular or hi-SEER? Still shopping the price around, but the difference between a regular
9 and 12 only seems to be ~$150; not sure on the hi-SEER models. And as for size, the hi-SEER model does add a little bulk; the 9 is 7 25/32" and the 9h 8 15/32".
I'm also going to post this in my build thread http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=998182
, but am open to feedback from those who don't venture in there.
