IS it really worth it to step up to this level with THX? would i be able to tell the difference between this and the next model down lacking THX?

I was recently attempting to make the same determinations about this model...

I had been interested in the the 9100 rather than the 7100 because of the THX certification as well as the large physical speaker size.

The 7100 does have the same 1200 total watt output as well as being a 7.1 system, albeit with smaller speakers.


Unfortunately, NewEgg had this on sale for $899 yesterday. Today, $999.

Oh well...
