For direct TV if your direc TV use pass through mode if you have it available
If not available I reccomend 1080i unless you normally watch ABC, Fox, or ESPN HD. For SD 4:3 aspect ratio programs I reccomend 480i.
Thank you for your opinion. I did switch to the 720p on the PS3, and have noticed I am getting the "full picture". ie. DVE test pattern shows all the lines when in 720p mode, where as the 1080i mode, I do not see all the lines. Put in a film, and noticed the same thing, the 1080i gives me a "closer up" picture slightly, but thus removes the far sides of the frame. I did also go with 720p on the Directv, also noticed the same result!
Again, thank you for your time and response!
