I'm going to need some more Glenlivet!

YAY!!!! I thought maybe they were going to just focus on Fallout. I love the Elder Scrolls series. Hopefully they can make it more Morrowind/Daggerfall like and less Oblivion. I mean Oblivion was fine but I think they made some errors. Perhaps Fallout will help them further polish things.

Please, less dungeon crawls

i liked the openess to oblivion and the free roaming adventuring and exploring, i hope to see more things to do in the world like become a shop smith, etc maybe even show actual body armore damage and weapon damage after many times of usage, stuff like that i'd like to see.

Sweeeet!!!!

this is one of those games I love..but sadly have not sat down and played it. I played morrowind, I have the collectors edition of oblivion, started it and made it out of the sewers...and just stopped..too many online games to play with friends.

I really need to play through it, I know its great. Now I have a reason, finish it before the new one comes out.

Best news in a long time!

just shat myself

Uggh...I still haven't completely finished Morrowind.

really good news. I like fallout and all, but it's just missing something that Oblivion had. Maybe I'm more into the old RPG theme with trolls, ogres and magic vs future stuff.

My thoughts exactly when I am playing Fallout 3. I just miss the armor, the spells, orcs, etc. Just not the same.

yeah i like that fantasy LOTR type setting, it really immerses me in the world.

too bad my Oblivion IV had "unable to read disc" pop up after about a hundred or more hours of gameplay

This is very good news since Fallout 3 was a failure imo. The Elder Scrolls games have such a more interesting, diverse, and alive world. I hope they make it more like Morrowind though that game was epic. Perhaps it was because I was younger with a more vivid imagination but I could play that game all day. Ah yes, back when games were actually captivating and didn't require achievements or online bragging rights to keep me interested...when there was no better reason to max my characters stats than "cuz I feel like it" and that was fine with me.

Oh boy, I need a new Elder Scrolls quick I'm becoming a jaded and cynical gamer like the rest of the ps1 era crowd. Save me.

that's a bit extreme. FO3 has no redeemable qualities at all???

it truly is a great game. the story is good in the beginning and i was captivated toward the end with all the happenings. if it werent for the length of the game i would play it all over again. this is one of those games i can only play every 5 years. definently worth the tag price if you ask me.

Well, it's a fail compared to the other Bethesda games. Not their fault though the Fallout ip was not something they should have pursued it was a setup for failure from the beginning.

Wow, who took their idiot pills?

Fallout 3 might be the best game world I've ever played in, if Scrolls V is more like that than Morrowind I'm in. Morrowind lost my interest after a couple hours, never got around to trying Oblivion - the combat was so clunky and awful I never even got around to trying spells.

That would be a huge disapointment. ES IV is, in my opinion one the THE best RP games out there. I cant believe that they would issue a PR regarding ES V, and then do an about face and say they have no plans to continue the series. Something is rotten in the state of Denmark methinks. Maybe there was a shakeup over at Bethesda?
Odd. It could still be something related to the ES universe, just not a proper sequel. But why would they make the prior statement? I hope this isn't a project that got switched up in midstream, because they don't usually turn out well.
Oblivion had the luxury of being about the only worthwhile title at launch.

I don't think many people are excited for a sequel unless they really deliver something spectacular. They fell short of my NPC expectations. The world isn't as open ended as they made it out to be.

No Elder Scrolls V = BAAAAAAAAAAD!

Bad for who exactly? Bethesda? They are still riding high off of Fallout 3.

I have been having a blast with it. Morrowind on the Xbox was my brothers favorite game and he also loved ES4. I can't say ES4 or Morrowwind isn't good because I didin't play due to not being interested in the type of setting they are set in. Fallout 3 is the first game I have ever played in the series and it was due to the setting and the type of gameplay I saw.
I'd be really surprised if they were not well into ESV. I was somewhat disappointed with Oblivion as compared to Morrowind but it was still a great game and big success. Before today I thought we might actually see some screenshots before the end of the year and even anticipated a late 2010 released. Fallout 3 was/is great and I am still playing it but I'd be really sad if the next Elder Scrolls never arrived.
I'm in the major minority here, but these games consume me a bit too much. Fantastic value, but holy snikes that's a ton of hours. Look at the bright side...have a job, girlfriend maybe. Go fishing! See where I'm going with that? Ok that's enough. Yes I'm sad
post #30 of 2490
huge fan of ES. Was excited for another. Hope they don't waste time on a MMO as I have zero interest in another boring MMO.

Loved F3, but ready for a proper rpg now
