Any general game play tips and/or advice for those that have logged a ton of hours on this game now? Should I focus my perks in a specific direction, or just where I feel fit
? I feel a bit overwhelmed going into the skills menu and not sure where I should focus my perks!
You'll hear many different pieces of advice. Basically, just play how you want. Assign perks to the skills you enjoy. And don't dismiss a particular skill just because it doesn't sound like much fun. The obvious stuff are the fighting, thieving, and magic using related perks. But the other stuff (smithing, enchanting, alchemy, speech, etc) are all really fun and useful too. Every single skill is useful and potentially powerful.
Unless you're really unsure of yourself, just experiment and explore on your own. Stay away from guides that tell you the "right" way to play.
Just let go, and have fun! I keep trying to put this game down and play something else. I'm 80hrs in, have finished the main quest, and still don't see an end anywhere in sight. Every time I boot up my console, I can't not
My main skills are archery, alchemy, one-handed, blocking, restoration, and speechcraft (all between 50 and 80). But I constantly use other skills, as well. Nothing is wasted in Skyrim. In terms of perks, there aren't many "wrong" turns. Just roll with it.
