Reloaded and after completing that quest a second time, stations work as normal. Still was a pain to have to go through that dungeon twice.

My wife ran into this bug...clearing the cache fixed it.

Just cleared that dungeon myself... found it to be one of the easier ones? Less baddies down there and not as much to search as I recall in others. If you had to do any twice, that one is not so bad, no? My biggest issue was not killing Mercer as he kept getting in my damned way. When I beat that big bad boss, I had apparently also enraged Mercer and he kept attacking me. Had to reload lol. I prefer to roll alone Cool ending to that dungeon too.

I think if you sheathe your weapon and try talking he will probably drop combat. I have been able to do that multiple times when taking companions around with me.

Ah! Good tip, I'll try that next time.

I make a grand tour of all big cities plus a few of the towns that had a store or blacksmith. Sell to everyone who'll buy, then start over. Once I got to 100,000 septims it's like I can't get rid of them anymore, although my two houses are about all I need...

AFAIK stolen stuff can only be sold to one of two fences in the game. And since they're limited in ready cash, it puts a limit on how much you can sell.

But generally, I have more than enough money selling legitimate goods, so it's usually not worth the effort of selling stolen stuff. I've never gotten much for it, and I can make a lot more money with legit stuff anyway. Never seems worth it to me.
I know there are 10 fences in the game but ONLY after you complete ALL of the thieves guild missions. Like 150 small quests. Lol right that is an entire game into itself. I generally take hides leathers coin purses and jewlery. The jewlery that you pickpocket is where the money is at. A couple gold diamond rings is like 2k

There is also the Fence perk under the speech skill tree. But it requires a speech level 90 and spending quite a few perks in that branch that could be used elsewhere. Personally I stopped with speech once I had the 'sell anything to anyone' perk. That was really useful but available much earlier than Fence and I didn't need to spend 2 or 3 more perks.

You can also take one of the lockpicking perks that increases your carry capacity by like 100. Nice perk.

My carry is over 440 right now with that lock pick perk. WOOT

I think there are like 9 total fences? Maybe more. You unlock a bunch of them doing the thieves guild quests. They all have like 1000 gold every 48 hours, but you can increase that limit by doing quests for the thieves guild. Even before you increase it, you can just wait 48 hours and sell another 1000 gold worth. Stealing is such an easy way to get a ton of gold. You get a lot of valuable rings and amulets, enchanted items, etc, and turn them straight around for profit. Pickpocketing has made gold a complete non-issue for me. Not sure if that's for better or worse.

I don't even pay much attention to my carry weight anymore. I think with some equipment it's at 400. But I don't take much of anything unless I'm gonna use it or the value to weight ratio is at least 30:1. Just don't need the gold, nothing to spend it on. If I find myself needing gold though, it's a lot faster and easier to just head to Solitude and pick some pockets. They seem to have good loot there, a lot of good jewelry.

past few days i've seen some odd bugs. nothing gamebreaking, but there were a couple from the main quest storyline that were unexpected. the radiant quests and the little side things that distract me all the time, sure, i expect those to get buggy, but i'd have thought the developers would have gone through the main quest with a fine toothed comb to ensure nothing weird would happen.

bug #1 - read the elder scroll, sat through the long cutscene, alduin arrived, and the other dragon kept bitching at me to use the dragonrend shout. i did that, alduin would land, but take no damage. apparently a common bug, the only way around is to reload a previous save from before you read the scroll and try again. not a lot of fun.

bug #2 - before ulfric attacked whiterun, i talked to the jarl about using dragonsreach to catch a dragon that would lead me to alduin. i was supposed to talk to ulfric and the imperial general, neither of which seemed the least bit interested (or aware) of what i had gone there to do. it wasn't until after the stormcloaks had taken whiterun that i was able to arrange the peace talks

i've also had more random freeze moments (sometimes if you wait it out it'll unfreeze), also some guards in markarth attacked me for no reason and then just as inexplicably broke off combat and left me alone.

still love this game and play way too much, but i'm concerned that, like oblivion and fallout 3, the larger your gamesave file gets, the more things that can go wrong. for me, both of those games (on the ps3) got steadily worse the longer i played.

The only real quest glitch I've had is in the Markarth mines

when you are sent to the mines and have to escape. After I escaped nothing ever happened. The group of mine prisoners and group of Markarth gaurds just stood there looking at each other. Had to play back through the escape to get anything to happen. Luckily it was a fairly easy section with only a couple of enemies and a tone of friendlies to help out.

I can't unlock the achievement that says freed those forts. I did the civil war quest. I went to one of the forts listed in the achievement, everyone is happy and on my side from who I picked in the civil war. Went into all the rooms, etc. and no enemies, just friendlies, yet still no achievement.

I think there are a couple of different ways it plays out. I did not kill the leader of the mine dwellers (can't remember his name). When we emerged from the mines we fought off the markarth gaurds. After that, their are no more gaurds to be found in the city, just the residents. The people that lived in the mine stand around town and kind of act like gaurds. But to answer your question, you don't get any kind of bounty for it.

There really isn't any reason to avoid it in my opinion, as long as you are not opposed to killing some people that they ask you to. Even then, that may be avoidable, but I don't mind getting my hands a little dirty.

Solitude black smith has a TON of iron and steel ingots for stealing.

I did the mine quest and still became thane with no problem. I just can't go into the talos temple. Nothing in there anyway.

Kinda funny how "I'll squeeze in 20 minutes before bed" turns into "holy ****, it's 1AM!" every single time.

lol. I have to determine how long I'm going to play and then set an alarm on my phone. Sometimes I still hit the snooze though

Do mines replenish their Ore after a while? I know someplaces the bandits and loot will eventually respawn but was curious about mines. I guess when I get farther along money won't matter so I can just buy the Ingot I need but for now mining is my best option it seems like.

I dunno if I'll be welcome back in Markarth. I stole the key to the museum instead of doing the quest for it, broke in, and got what I came for, along with killing a dozen guards and stealing anything useful. The guards chased me out of town and I paid off the last one who chased me.

Does this mean I can never go back there? It never said I had a bounty (I don't think?). If anything the bounty was 5. When they stopped me that's what it said, but I never saw it flash in the upper left. Is there anyway to pay it off and be welcome back, without giving up my stolen goods?

The one mine I went back to for Ebony ore was not replenished. It was the only one I had mined.

Ha, I feel your pain. This game has consumed my time like no other. I'm 80 hours in and level 43 and see no end in sight. And that's a good thing. It is entirely impossible to 'just' spend 20-30 mins playing.

On Sunday my XBOX went out after the screen turned green and started shining. Simple fix, my HDMI cable died. But I'm not entirely convinced my wife didn't sabotage the system to force me to spend more time with her...

My son (5) loves watching me play. I don't do any Dark Brotherhood, Thieves Guild or kill human bandit quests when he is around for various reasons. But he loves it when I fight dragons, trolls, saber cats, etc. Oddly my conjured Daemon Lord is his favorite and he gets a real kick out of his sayings like "I Smell Weakness!" and "All Quiet Now!".

I'm pretty sure the guards you kill in the lab and museum are the Wizard's personal guards and you don't incur a bounty as long as no one else sees you. There is one Markarth gaurd in that area that I killed. But after all of the missions were over there were no Markarth gaurds left so I didn't have a bounty for that town.

I ran into a similar problem and just decided to dump all my stolen goods in my home in a chest and then go back and pay my fine and be done with it. fairly painless and didnt loose anything in the process.

I know what you mean! I think I have only put in 5 sessions with this game and I am at 37 hours already! There is no way I can even fire up Skyrim unless I have at least a few hours of free time.

Great game though and really enjoying it!
