Elder Scrolls V - Page 82

The equip vocalization is fantastic. Nothing takes me out of the experience more than when I'm in the middle of a battle and I have to pause it to switch to other weapons/armor.

I like that you can use it for your gear too - I wonder if I can say "drink health potion!" in the middle of a battle?

So, I marrired Aela the Huntress the other night

Can I take items from my wife without pick pocketing her? If I pick pocket her in our house, do I get arrested?

How do I have her set up shop?
I'd assume she operates liky my wife, Lydia. You just talk to her and one of the options is to trade items. You can put or take items from her inventory. No pick pocketing necessary.

Lydia just "set up shop" automatically. There is no physical shop where she works. You just talk to her every now and then and ask about the business. Then she gives you money. Same goes for food.

Tried out the voice commands, once I turned them on in Options.

Oddly, standing in front of a door and saying Open didn't work. Shouts work fine, but in combat Unrelenting Force turns out to be VERY directional when two ice trolls are running at you. Now that I don't have to select the shout I'll have to play with them more to find ALL the limitations.

Working on Witcher 2 which needs a LOT of time to get my character as tough as he is in Skyrim, but this is going to be nice to play with as time goes on...

I used the voice controls some today. I like the fact that I can be in the middle of a fight and say "equip healing spell" get to cover and heal myself and the say "equip bow" and I'm back in the battle. Also using any shout quickly is nice but as posted earlier it does affect aiming as the timing is different. I also liked saying "ally wait" while dungeon crawling in spots where I didn't want my follower to get in the way. It's not perfect (I said "items" once during play and the game equipped a fire spell) but I think it's a great update.

I'm actually kinda bummed by this....wish they had spent all those resources making the mainline series better.

PC and Mac only. Move along.
Why should he move along? I'm interested in all things Elder Scrolls.

Ha. Fair enough. I'm interested as well but this is the XBOX forum. Announcements are fine I was just making a point that the game won't be on this console so we won't have much to discuss about it. Unfortunately. I'm still waiting for that game changer MMO for the 360.

I think Kinect integration would be a key to having one. I personally don't have Kinect but maybe it's the silver bullet to getting a decent MMO out on this system in lieu of a keyboard. Then again chatting while trying to voice commands may be difficult.

That is an excellent idea! Chatting while using the kinect is fine in my experience. In fact, kinect can even tell when I say xbox in a sentence. If I say "xbox" it'll bring up the little menu on the bottom of this screen. If I say, "Hey dude, this xbox game makes my loins frothy" the menu wont come up. It's pretty wicked. Something should happen in-game.

USB keyboards are compatible with the 360
post #2455 of 2490
Maybe the PC/Mac crowd can be counted on to sustain a MMO more than the console folks. Or at least long enough to not lose money on the deal...

We only had archery in OoT, we didn't get swordplay until Twilight Princess.

That looks great! The $20 is a bit rough to think about right now, but I'm assuming this'll bring hours upon hours of awesome gaming.
