I've never seen anyone kill more than 2 people with the torque bow. Thats one thing I miss about the original Gears, multi torque kills.

Also this weekend adds a ticker infestation in Horde, and the mod says title update 4 will be here in time for this too.

What does the ticker infestation exactly mean? More of them in waves or waves dedicated to just alot of tickers?

It's time to celebrate Independence Day! And we're going to do that with some extra experience and an onslaught of our version of fireworks, the beloved Ticker. Oh and it's looking like TU4 is going to drop just in time for this event!

Starting Friday morning you'll be receiving double XP as well as a 500 XP bonus awarded to the winning team. And to give a little extra bang to Horde we're bringing the Ticker squad (a group of Tickers that all spawn at the same time) into full effect. They'll be showing up a lot more throughout all the waves of Horde and they've completely infested every 10th wave with nothing but Tickers. So if you've been having trouble with Bloodmounts, this weekend is a good time to get your Horde on and get further than ever before. And don't forget that TU4 will give you experience for every wave you beat.

The event will end on Monday morning on July 6th.

So get out there and pop some Tickers for freedom!"

I just recently upgraded my surround sound (Ascend 340se's in front, 170se's in back, and a SVS PC13 Ultra) so I decided to play through some of Gears 2 again to test them out. Overall, the game sounds great, but has anyone else noticed just how "boomy" it is? It's like all of the deep bass from the game is played at one annoying frequency. I used to think this was due to my ****** old sub, but it seems like it's just how the game was made.

No.

I think it sounds amazing. Don't forget what is going on in the game: growls, explosions, etc. All are bass-heavy.

The only thing I have noticed is that it is relatively louder than the other games I own.

Don't get me wrong, I love bass... it just seems like there isn't much variation in the frequency of the bass in Gears It's as if all of the bass sounds exactly the same. Or maybe I'm just crazy .

Sounds good here. I only play multiplayer and it's not boomy at all. Really heavy bass stuff in this game, especially if you use the mortar. At night I play it on -48db on the receiver. During the day, I play -30db and it's plenty loud.

That will never happen. Host selection will never be fixed. Some times I'm host and sometime I'm not. That's the way it is.

I'm going to wait, not everyone will have it and match making will take forever.

Matchmaking was horrible last night. I thought there'd be tons of people playing so why'd I have to stare at a spinning cog for ten minutes before I could play a single match?

I thought it was good. I played it both ways (Guns Blazin & Stealth). Of course, stupid Dom attracted the attention of the locust while trying to do stealth. The locust do not see you because you are disguised, they smell you. There is an achievement for not being detected but I am not sure how to do that with Dom at your side.

Played the guns blazing option by myself, not too bad of a level and a decent length to it. Wanted to run through it quick the 1st time so played on casual and took I think about 35 minutes or so to do. This level on INSANE there are 2 parts where I see it will be outright suicidal because even on casual I had OMG moments and was thankfully revived by 1 of the 2 AI partners(part of the leve you have a 3rd person with you).

I learned that from the snowblind maps. I purchased them the day it came out and match making was horriable and if you get into a match, good luck trying to get the type of game you like. Not everyone is going to have to new maps.

I tried to play a public match last night - the host must have got mad and quit.

It was too late (at night) for me to try again, so I tried a couple of maps on Training Grounds. The two maps I tried were big, and pretty confusing. Lots of weapon spawning areas. I think they will be fun to play if you can manage to find enough players online to make a match.

Managed a torque headshot that flew through his head and stuck the guy behind him for a double kill. Probably will never top that =P

It's easier then you think. Best spot is on blood drive, looking down on the main area. Through the head, into the torso of the next guy.

He was mid-roll and it wasn't a lined up shot, plus my friend usually has the torque...I see it one in 50 games lol.

90% of games this week have had at least 2 second bullet lag. One UK host went 38-0 on guardian and nobody else had more than 1 kill. Fun times. I need to find a way to drop my truskill and hopefully some bridgers.
