Hello all! I blew out my JBL Venue Sub12 over the weekend. I only purchased it about 7 months ago so I imagine it's still under warranty but not sure if they're going to cover it.

So as a back up I'm on parts-express.com I found a Dayton speaker that's looks about right but it's 8 ohm. Not sure if I require a 4 or 8 ohm speaker or does it even make a difference? I can't seem to find any specs showing the resistance on this sub.

Need some help from the knowledgable...

Before you go replacing drivers, contact your JBL service. If it is under warranty, it won't be after replacing the driver.

More than likely, the driver in the sub is of the 4 Ohm variety. If the PE driver your looking at is dual 8 Ohm VC, then you can wire them in parallel to get a 4 Ohm speaker.

On the JBL web site, it doesn't say anything about a warranty. Even the owner's manual doesn't state a warranty. Those b***ards. I did find that Tiger Direct shows it has a 1 year parts and labor warranty.
