They were Adelphia up until the beginning of 2008. I'm on the same system as them.

So do you have the 100 channels in Palm City? Any idea if the systems/equipment/infrastructure in place is similar to Palm Beach County or not? Just trying to figure out if more work was required for PB County. You would think population wise they would have had PB County done first but Comcast Logic is one of the great mysteries of the world.

I presently have 94 HD channels, which include premium channels, i.e. HBO, SHO, MAX, Starz and Sports Entertainment Tier. This area uses Scientific Atlanta STB's in addition to the more recent Cisco STB's. Since March 2011, the straight cable to the TV requires a DTA to view any channel over 22. The S25 guide was added in April 2011.

When Comcast converts to digital in W.P.B., will QAM signals still be mostly unscrambled? I'm trying to get along without their STB's for as long as possible.

Can anyone explain to me the NFL local market simulcast rules? I was under the impression that the contracts that ESPN and the NFL Network have with the NFL require a local OTA broadcast of games televised on cable. I had thought that last night's MNF game with the Dolphins should have been broadcast via an affiliate, but I couldn't find anything. Does this only apply to the Miami market and not the West Palm market?

What exactly does the DTA do on Comcast Boca? Its not a tuner is it? Could a QAM tuner pick up the same channels?

A friend of mine has the new channels down in Wellington, but still nothing here in West Palm.

I received a letter from Comcast yesterday to get our order in for the free digital adapters by Nov-15. Said our developement(Hypoluxo & Turnpike) would be making the switch on Dec-13. We get 2 free, addtional boxes are $1.99 a month.

Comcast did the change to digital in Palm Beach Gardens on Wednesday. I haven't noticed anything different using the SA8300 DVR. No new channels yet or anything. An additional straight cable connection to the TV though now only picks up local channels that you can get with an antenna.

In the Treasure Coast area, Comcast waited until the entire zone was converted to the reduced analog channel scheme before adding the new HD channels.

I use a TIVO and had to call them to add the new channels, as apparently they were not notified by Comcast that the channel scheme had changed. Don't be surprised if this happens in WPalm.

Cheer up, WPalm subscribers are getting close.

Just got AT&T Uverse, and am experiencing audio drop outs, 1/2 sec in duration every couple minutes, but looks like it is only on WPTV

Still doing some testing but that seems to be the case

Anyone else with AT&T and having the settings set to support surround sound having these problems ? One source in the forum pointed to Uverse's and some receiver's inability to tolerate very small audio drop outs from some broadcasters.

Any body seeing this?

thanks

We received a brochure from Comcast today saying that we would get the new HD channels and some new digital channels in Palm Beach Gardens beginning on or after October 4.

Couldn't get this station via antenna last night. Then I discovered it showed up listed as channel 12.3, along with the normal weather radar on 12.3.

Did anyone else see this?
I guess channel 5 was doing some adjustment cause now we lost the weather on 5.2 for Living Well Network and I just notice on WFLX 29.2 has begun Bounce TV.

Good day
I live in Lake Worth, just west of the turnpike and just north of lake worth.
I have an Antenna Direct C4 Clearstream & a Winegard YA 1713 Prostar.
25 ft mast, both antennas pointing South to SSW, adjusted for maximum signal on 7 Miami. 3 blocks due south of my home are 45 ft pine trees. I don't receive WPLG 10 in Miami, should I be able to with my setup?
I receive every other station in Miami, and all the Palm Beach County stations.
Thank you for your time.

Hi Palmgrower: I live in Wellington and I receive ch 7 and 10 and all the rest with just one small ant. I'm using the AntennaCraft HDX1000 VHF UHF HD TV Antenna (HDX1000). Ch 7 comes in at 88 and ch 10 at 80 signal reading. Give it a try. Good luck.

I installed a new 15-2586 to replace my 18 year old qinter uvsj combiner, I routed the vhf side unamplified, the uhf side is amplified.
All Miami stations are maxed out on my 2- Samsung PN59D8000's
The only local station, ABC 25, I was having issues with, probably due to all antennas point south, now has a signal of better than 50%.
Why are both ABC affiliates, 10 & 25, in 720p ?

It all works great, thanks for the advice Willtech!

ABC and all its sister networks like ESPN (along with Fox and its sister networks) are 720p networks.

We got all the new Comcast HD channels in Palm Beach Gardens on Tuesday. It took part of the day for the guide to update on the SA8300 DVR. The TIVO with cable card has not received the new channels yet. Tried a reboot but it didn't help. I'll be calling them tomorrow if we don't get them by then.

Funny I got a Comcast postcard that said the change over was Nov. 1, this weekend I got 3-4 automated calls saying that it will be Nov. 15th

That would explain it.....I got the letter (I live at Hypoluxo and Jog), but decided to go to the Comcast office in Palm Beach Gardens as it was close to my work. My lord - those lines were long!

I assumed it was the same all over the area for the DTV switchover, so I never thought to go to a different office, and I waited for an hour (after leaving twice on other days) to get my cablecard. Now I find out that PBG had just switched, no wonder there were so many people banging down the door. DOH! Could have gone to an office in an area that wasn't swamped.....

Do you have the preferred package? I have digital starter with the HD option, and am running a cableCARD setup on windows media center. I'm wondering if I'll be getting any new HD channels or if its all conversions of channels on the preferred tier.

Only channel I'd ever watch on the preferred tier is Speed, so its hard to justify $20/month for one channel. Maybe if it had some other stuff I'd watch I'd spring for it.

I just setup a winegard 1080HD antenna in the attic of my mothers house in wellington (probably 15ft AGL). She gets solid signal to 25, and pretty good signal to 10 (enough that it doesn't bother her if it jitters every once in awhile). Haven't checked the % signal numbers. She doesn't get 7 strong enough to watch consistently.

Antenna is tuned just left of North for 25.1, that was the channel we were tuning for.

Sounds like if it was pointed southsouthwest it would get everything I do

We have Digital Premier that includes HBO, SHO, MAX, & Starz. Our condo dues cover the standard service and we pay for the rest. I think Comcast is pretty expensive. It would be more cost effective to bundle but I don't want to switch our DSL right now.

I'm happy with the all the new digital channels that were added. We don't watch them all but for those that we do watch it's great finally having the HD.

It took 3 days after the new channels were added to the DVR for the TIVO with the cable card to start getting the new channels and guide.
