Computer speakers vs Home theater speakers

I have a nice 7.1 setup in my apt, but some of the speakers are a bit too big. I have a set of logitech's from the z5500 package that I loved when I had a desktop. I now have a laptop for my portable internets, so I was thinking, what's the potential issues or downsides to using some of those logitech satelites as my rear or side speakers? Right now I have some classic 3 way Yamaha's in the back. My receiver is set to treat them as small speakers anyway (no bass).

I guess aside from possible performance loss, is there any technical problems with just switching the speakers straight up? Same wires, no further configuration; I was always curious about the technical differences between home theater speakers within the context of using pc speakers for home theater receivers.

Thanks in advance!

You may want to find out what ohms the Z5500 are and see if it's compatible with your receiver.

Performance wise I can't say for certain, but I think they would be on par with a Sony HTIB system.

Thanks for the tip, they are both 8 ohms, so this bodes well.
