Speakercraft MZC-64 with MODE converting from Cable Box to Satellite with metadata

Thread Starter
I have a Speakercraft system built around a MZC-64 with MODE keypads in 2 zones. Currently one of the sources is digital audio from a cablebox but i want to upgrade this to Sirius/XM for better choices, and more importantly, to get the metadata (song, artist, etc.) to display on the MODE keypads.

My dealer says I need to purchase the Onkyo T-4555 as the tuner to get the metadata but didn't say why. I'd like to have more options on tuners so I'm wondering what spec is required to get the metadata from Sirius to Speakercraft.

RDS?
The RS-232 connector?

Any input would be appreciated!

There are several radio's out there that will work to give the metadate. The RSA-1.0 and Onkyo t-4555 in my opinion is the best solution. I have not heard of any metadate options from any sat or cable box.
