I own the AVR 3806 built a home theater last year - got lots of info from this forum. Now with the blu ray craze had some questions.
I was wondering how I can get 7.1 on this amp thru blu ray.
Someone had mentioned that I could do 7.1 pcm thru HDMI would ps3 or the 2 blu ray players do that? AM i correct in this assumption?
Or do i need to get the S550 and do analog to get to 7.1.
IF the HDMI 7.1 PCM works, does anyone know How to set that up in Ps3 and also for those 2 blu ray players are their options to output 7.1 PCM thru HDMI.
ALSO on the amp what settings would need to be done to receive the 7.1 thru the HDMI; if that works?
I just don't know how the settings work with the surround feature on the amp and the dolby settings etc, since the AMP doesn't have DOBLY TRUE HD?
I am sorry if this is all over the board, just not up to speed on all the changes as I was when I was researching and building my home theater. Especially since I decided to go back to school, so have been out of touch.
Thanks again for all the information - Especially with black friday approaching I know a few places will offer the SONY BDP s350 for around 180 dollars so it seems like a good deal if it will work but if not maybe I will splerge for the S550 with the analogs and also give up on my PS3 idea also.
