Digital static Roland DM-20

(My apologies if this is the wrong forum to ask. Moderators please move if innappropriate)

Just bought a Samsung T260HD monitor and connected my Roland DM-20's to it.

Using RCA ANT21 indoor passive antenna:
-Analog channels (local) play audio correctly
-DTV/HDTV dolby digital channels (local) play pure digital static.

Why the static? Is it my speakers, the antenna, or the tuner?

Forgot to mention connection configuration:

Samsung TV Digital optical audio output > Roland Speakers Digital optical input.

I've tried 2 different TOSlink cables with the same result. I've successfully used my PS2 (games and DVD) digital optical out to the speakers with no problem. Also using 2 different sound card digital outs from my computer playing DTS signals with no problems.

Is there any other information that would be useful?
