Samsung PN50A450 Question...Horizontal Bar going up and down... Be nice!

So I am new to the forums, so be nice. I ususally use AVS for video game stuff. I am also lazy, did not want to search through all the Samsung threads for what I hope to be is a simple answer .

So I did a decent amount of research and bought this TV in August right before I closed on my house. Finally, after much work, moved in last week.

Comcast came and set up the HD box and all looks great. I noticed today however, after not watching for a couple weeks while on my honeymoon that when i really look at the screen it looks like there are bars going from right to left on the screen (only 1 or 2) and they scroll from the bottom of the TV to the top.

I am praying the TV is not defective and there is some alignment I have yet to do. Any thoughts? If anything major please PM me so I can fully understand what to do. Thanks a lot.

OK I GOT NEW INFO:
as per jalis' suggestion i unplugged everything to see if bars could be from another source. it turns out the horizontal bars were from the cable box. i actually jiggled the wires around a bit and they disappeared. however, i then went into my office and the bars are now going down by 32inch westy lcd.

i am very frustrated and wondering what could cause this? as soon as i got the 50inch plasma to be resolved, i notice this on my 32in westy and know for a fact it was not there an hour earlier.

anything i should do/could do, or should i call comcast and let them handle it?? is there anything they can even do??

almost sounds like your having a hum bar issue, you may have a device that is causing the interference on the TV> i doubt that its your TV though.

weird... the only thing hooked up on this entertainment stand is the TV, the cable box, and the PS3... most of the time the PS3 is not even on.

There is no weird noise or anything with it (like when a certain kind of cell phone goes off by a TV) and no color distortion besides the bar that goes up and down.

You notice is much more in standard def. than in high def.

If it is a hum bar, how do I remedy? Any chance could be something else? Unlikely the TV though??

well if you disconnect everything from your TV and just have the TV plugged into the power do you still see this interference? if you do maybe your getting some noise in the picture through an improper ground on the socket you are using.

If after just moving the wires around the problem went away then I highly doubt the TV is defective. It does seem as though there is some interference involved with the power line or cable line. Are the cables shielded in any way?

Try rearranging the receiver and cable box, sometimes something simple as that could alleviate or either get rid of the problem altogether. It also helps if the wires from every unit are not tangled up or intertwined together.
