Smoking and HT

I will be returning to college for one semester, and am planning on taking my home theater equipment with me (blu-ray player, surround sound system, plasma tv, etc...). I do not smoke cigarettes, but I do smoke tobacco out of a hookah (shisha, whatever you like to call it). Most of the nicotine is filtered before it ever reaches the hose, so it isn't quite as bad to exhale as a cigarette would be.

My question is, will the hookah smoke hurt my equipment? Please be well knowledgeable about hookah's before answering. There is a world of difference between hookah and cigarette. (And please don't quote the ridiculous NY Times article on Hookah smoke. It was horrendously done on an improperly set-up hookah, forcing the hookah to release more nicotine/tar than is normal. A hookah session is nowhere near worth an entire pack of cigarettes.)

Why mess with the hookah? Four letters you should be familiar with as a college student - B O N G

To answer your question, you should be fine.

Get a good air filter; they're useful even between hookah sessions.

Cool, thanks for the replies. And bong would not work for shisha tobacco. And I wouldn't touch any other substances (you know what I'm talking about) for the simple reason that I'm afraid I would probably end up trading my xbox or tv for some chicken nuggets or a snickers bar.

I work in a lot of people's houses. Some have smoke film on everything. I was in a mid size apartment recently, the guy was a heavy smoker. He had 2 of those ionic breeze things, you could not even smell the smoke. Back in the day, my mom knew something was up when I would eat a whole box of frosted flakes and wash it down with pepsi.....

How about you just don't use it?

Smoke of any kind will leave a residue(over time) I am a smoker but not in my house and nowhere
around any of my equipment.
