What do you guys think of this setup

My local CC is closing and they had some pretty good deals on some Polk speakers. I was considering open box Monitor 70's for the fronts ($149 each), and Monitor 40's for the sides ($125 a pair new in box) and Monitor 30's for the reirs($95 a pair new in box). I would really like to do the 40's all the way around but I'm not sure if they are able to be wall mounted. Does anyone know if this is possible? I would eventually fill in with the cs2 for center and a sub ( not sure which yet). All of this would be powered by a Denon 1909/789. So a couple of questions before i buy.....
1. Do you guys think this would sound pretty good?
2. Are these good prices for the speakers?
3. Would there be a real big difference if I went with a CS1 instead of the CS2? They had one OB for $65. Or is it worth the extra $ for CS2?
4. Would I notice a big difference between Monitor 50 and the 70. The 50's are half the cost of the 70's.
Thanks for any input.

The Monitor series bookshelves 40/30 are rear ported therefore wall mounting is out of the question. Any of the floorstanding monitor series can be placed close to the rear wall but a minimum of 6" to 1 foot should be applied as well as 1 foot side to side spacing as well. Placing them too close to a wall will result in a muddy or boomy low end response. This pretty much goes for any box speaker except those designed with enough baffle step compensation. Traditional point source speakers radiate sound in a spherical pattern that as it moves around the front of the enclosure will interact with the wall sooner than the designer intended creating all sorts of anomolies that will smear the on axis material. If you can avoid wall mounting, please do.

how about using a mounting bracket to hang the speakers from the ceiling?

according to polks website the monitor bookshelf speakers ie.. 30's and 40's are wall mountable as they come with "
Built-in keyhole wall mounting brackets for strong, secure on-wall mounting with no added brackets to buy"
i had mine mounted on the wall with no sound deficiency

I have the monitor 50's, with a CS2 and Monitor 30's for side surrounds. The CS2 is definitely worth the extra $$$ in my opinion. I listened to both the CS2 and CS1 and the CS2 sounded a lot "fuller". Hard for me to describe, but I found the CS2 to be a noticeable improvement over the CS1. I can't comment on the Monitor 70's vs. 50's, but I'm quite happy with my 50's. Also, check the official Polk eBay store for pricing, you might find a better deal there.

Finally, I would think twice about wall-mounting either the Monitor 30 or 40 speakers due to their rather large size, if nothing else.
