Problem with Runco VX-1000ci

Thanks for any help you can give. I replaced the bulb. I turn on the controller power (rear switch); the display lights up, red power indicator light, so far, so good. After a 30 seconds or so, the display goes off. Pushing the on button (front panel) does nothing. If, while the display and red power indicator light are on, I push the on botton (front panel) the display light turns orange. The machine is totally cooled; the comlink connection is fine. This happened once before, but not at a bulb change. It fixed itself in a few days, but I don't know if that were a few days with power off or on (rear panel.) Other things I've tried to do to fix are (1) pushing the reset button on the projector; (2) powering off (rear button); (3) leaving it overnight; leaving it for awhile with power on (rear button); (4) powering on (rear button) while holding the front down button down, which the manuel says is a reset. Nothing works. Any ideas? Thanks

... did you call runco?

Not yet. Tried them once before and found the phone tree pretty horrible. But that's the next step if I can't get help here.

Actually contacting your dealer is best. Runco tech support is more for dealers than end users (in other words, you might find you have more response if you get your dealer involved).

I bought on line, instead of locally, which leaves me a tad sheepish about calling the dealer here. When I get some time, I'll try Runco, and if that doesn't help, call the local dealer. I gave this a shot hoping someone had had the problem and knew what to do.

Why not call your on-line dealer?!

Call your dealer...I can pretty much guarantee I know what a local dealer that you didn't buy from is going to tell you to do.

Actually if your online dealer won't support you, you probably are better off calling Runco direct in that case.

It turnes out when you power down the controller, unplugging it, you are not powering down the projector, which has its own power source. All I had to do was to get the projector to reset by unplugging it, waiting 10 seconds, plugging it back in. Problem fixed. Thanks for the attempts to help, buys, and, who knows, this posting might solve it for the next guy.

I'm looking to purchase a new lamp for my RuncoVX-1000D. Where did you purchase your lamp?

My local dealer doesn't sell Runco anymore.

I don't want to hijack your thread. I posted this question in it's own thread, but I thought you may have an answer to my question.

Thanks.

Check with Runco, but there's a seller on eBay that carries them as well, I just checked.
