This is what I'd expect from HD circa 5 years ago, certainly not from a modern transfer of one of the most successful films of recent times. Good going Warner. Not sure how much is due to the colour choices and how much is because of the sharpening creating an overall cold and harsh image, but none of these shots look even remotely appealing to me. Glad I have no interest in the movie.
And why is the grain structure/compression so spotty on so many Warner discs:
On most others, be they very sharp like Wanted, or softened like Hellboy II, almost every frame I've seen posted still has a very high level of consistency (even if slightly artifacted). Here on the other hand it's like the encoder is randomly selecting small blocks/parts that retain all the grain/detail, and then the block next to it is completely smoothed out. Look at the stripes on the lapel in the image above for example, it's "now you see it, now you don't" in a very blocky manner.
